WHY?
The world is in a growing crisis of disconnection and being emotionally overwhelmed. This reality affects people of all ages, but children and adolescents are especially vulnerable. Many are struggling to build meaningful relationships or develop the emotional tools they need to survive in today's world. At the World Smile Initiative®, we believe that kindness and connection aren't luxuries — they are essential to mental health, resilience, and community well-being.

Right now, more kids than ever are feeling lost, lonely, and overwhelmed. Many don't know how to connect with each other — or with themselves. The World Smile Initiative® was created to change that. Through small, accessible tools, we remind people what it means to be human: to smile, to listen, to love. Our Make Me Smile with Miist™ podcast brings stories, music, and hope to followers around the world. We're not asking people to do more. We're showing them how to return to what matters most — each other. Your support helps us put these tools in the hands of teachers, students, and communities who need them most. The world record song that gave birth to the World Smile Initiative®.
In 2024 Miist read the story of a young Japanese man who died from 'Lonely Death'. His plight moved her to write this important global song about learning to smile again. It was simultaneously adapted in 16 language versions. The World Smile Initiative® takes that message and spreads it through the Kindness Kube™ and her Make Me Smile™ podcast which shows us how we can take back control of the world around us by simple 15-second actions that remind us how to be human.
